Antonio Carlos Barro

About Me

Antonio Carlos Barro, also known as “AC,” was born in Marília (SP), Brazil. He holds a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary (California, USA), and is the founder and current General Director of the South American Theological Seminary. He is also a pastor in the Presbyterian Church of Brazil and teaches courses in the areas of Mission, Leadership, and Pastoral Ministry. As an author, he has published several books (including “The Pastor and His Finances”), organized other works (such as “The Church of the Future”), and written articles on various topics (church, God’s mission, holistic mission, pastoral care).
In addition, he is a visual artist whose work transcends the visual realm and connects deeply with theology. His paintings are inspired by spiritual themes, exploring the symbolism and meanings present in faith and religious reflection. Each painting is a unique expression that invites contemplation and dialogue, reflecting his artistic vision on universal spiritual issues.

In addition to his missiological work in books and articles, oil painting on canvas is an artistic expression of AC Barro that reflects his vision of the role of the church and Christians in the world. This thematic exhibition was interpreted by Professor Ênio Caldeira Pinto, who, inspired by imagetic theory, applied concepts of texture and imagery to the paintings, linking them to themes of Christian theology. He deciphered these images and explained them within biblical contexts and contemporary Christian communities. The intention is not to offer a final interpretation but rather a starting point for critical and missional reflection.
